Welcome to the world of theatre! This 5-week course is perfect for a budding theatre beginner. Each week, students will focus on a specific skill. Check out the class descriptions below. Allow your young star to make new friends and try something new while developing their acting skills. This class will culminate in an invited showcase on the final day of class, during which parents can come and watch the students present what they have worked on in class.

Jan 6th STEP INTO THE SPOTLIGHT: Learn to move confidently on stage! Through movement, voice, facial expressions, and imagination, students will create memorable characters and discover how every character has a unique personality, goal, and story.

Jan 13th IMAGINE & IMPROV: Students will explore all things Improv to build confidence and their communication skills while on stage.

Jan 20th MUSICAL THEATRE PERFORMANCE: Students will apply their acting skills to musical theatre by exploring how songs move a story forward. Through song and dace, they'll focus on performing songs with clear intention, storytelling, and character.

Jan 27th THEATRE TALES: From imagination to the stage, students will learn to tell stories through acting, movement, and creative play. They'll learn how characters, settings, and teamwork come together to make unforgettable theatre.

Feb 3rd PLAY, PRETENT, PERFORM: It’s your time to shine. Rehearse and then Showcase your creativity, confidence and performance skills for an audience of friends and family.

Great for beginning students ages 6-9. To ensure a safe and successful experience for all, students must be able to participate independently in the activities and classroom environment.

Jan 9th Scene Super Stars: Through improv, partner work, and creative games, they'll practice using voice, movement, emotions, and reactions to bring characters to life and discover how different choices can transform a performance 

Jan 16th Improv & Collaboration: Think fast, make bold choices, and build confidence through improvisation, character work, and creative scene-building.

Jan 23rd STAYING IN CHARACTER: Students will explore how actors make strong character choices and stay connected to their roles throughout a scene.

Jan 30th MUSICAL THEATRE MOVEMENT: Explore storytelling through movement.

Feb 6th IN THE SPOTLIGHT: Put your skills into action as you rehearse and perform a showcase celebrating your creativity, confidence, and growth on stage.

Join us on Jan. 18th from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Starting with an original concept, the group, under the direction of teaching artists, will create a truly original play that will culminate in a performance-ready show. Students will be divided by age. The performance will be filmed and sent to parents. Each Play-in-a-Day is as unique as the participants. Your students will hone their imagination and collaboration skills to create a remarkable performance.

Feb 17th IMPROV-THE ACTOR’S TOOLKIT: Strengthen your creativity, confidence, and performance instincts through advanced improvisation techniques, character work, and spontaneous storytelling.

Feb 24th THE ART OF THE MONOLOGUE: Explore the craft of solo performance by discovering character choices, emotional connection, and techniques to captivate an audience.

March 3rd THE ACTOR IN MOTION: Build your confidence as a musical theatre performer through choreography, movement technique, and the skills needed to tell stories through dance. 

March 10th CHARACTER CREATION: Create unforgettable characters through imagination, movement, voice, and learn the tools actors use to bring roles to life. 

March 17th DRAMATIC STORYTELLING: Develop your skills as a storyteller by exploring narrative structure, character arcs, and the techniques used to create impactful performances.

March 31st CHARACTER EXPLORATION: Explore how actors transform text into performance by analyzing scripts, making strong character choices, and developing authentic connections with scene partners.

April 7th IN THE SPOTLIGHT: Put your skills into action as you rehearse, refine, and perform a showcase celebrating your growth, artistry, and confidence as a performer.

March 3rd MOVE ABOUT: A high energy class where students explore the joys and basics of musical theatre dance.

March 10th IMPROV ADVENTURES: Think quickly, work together, and have fun creating scenes without a script.

March 17th CHARACTER QUEST: Step into the shoes of a character and explore how actors use voices, movements, and imagination to make them come alive.
